I have no idea why this worked for me but posted it just in case it might help someone else. I went back to my services page and started the Logi Facecam Service along with changing the Startup type back to the original Automatic (Delayed Start) setting. Then rebooted my machine.Īfter rebooting, OBS recognized the webcam and it started working without issue. So I turned the service off and set the Start type to Manual. Found a service called Logi Facecam Service that was running and started by default (delayed start) when I booted up Windows. I went into Services in Windows to see if there might be a service that was conflicting for some unknown reason.

the webcam would work in other software like Zoom and the generic Camera app that comes with Win 10. In OBS, my system was behaving as if my webcam was in use by something else even though I didn't have any other programs open that would use the camera.

I also experienced this issue in Win 10 using a Logitech c922 Pro Stream. I'm pulling my hair out because my webcam worked fine and I've tried every fix known to man online without a solution. Is there possibly something going on behind the scenes with windows where it thinks I have programs open taking control of my webcam when it shouldn't? Doesn't make sense though as I can use my camera everywhere else. I use the free version of avast so I don't have the bitdefender issueĪ strange thing I noticed earlier when I closed OBS out of frustration and launched discord, it loaded in streamer mode when I have nothing open. closing all other apps that use my webcam before starting OBS and even removing them from startup so nothing should trigger the webcam deleting all scenes and only having 1 webcam source changing webcam resolution, video format: mjpeg and so on unplugging the camera and using different USB ports including 3.0

checking windows 10 camera privacy settings My webcam works everywhere else including windows camera app, zoom, discord, google chrome, logitech programs etc.īefore you reply I've tried everything below: On Firefox it seems that no matter what is set here, only 640x480 will be used (except cases where the user is able to set his own preferred resolution locally).I've come across the issue where my webcam shows within the drop down box in OBS, SLOBS and Streamelements OBS but none show an image. If this resolution is set to one that is not available on one side, it seems that one side will fall back to a really low resolution. The default in OBS settings is 128 and I drop this to around 80 but any time I restart my PC it resets these values. The only thing I'm changing on this webcam settings in OBS is the brightness. Right now if both sides use Chrome, they must use the lowest common resolution set in which seems to be 640x360. The C920 settings keep resetting to default values. In case of not having this resolution (720 set and 1024x768 webcam available) available it falls back to 320x240, regardless if it has in-between resolutions available lower on the list (640x480, 640x360, 1024x768).

Chrome uses ONLY this setting whatever it is set to.Firefox just ignores this setting and uses 640x480 and for alternate resolutions honors only the forced "_height" and "_width" (set through the about:config page).I did more tests (hacking into, replacing all occurences of ||"360" with other resolutions) and it seems that
